Black Bushido Oni Black Bushido Oni started out as a studio band in the heart of Queens in New York City, with only two members: Obediah (Dennis) Wells and Xia (Amanda) Wong. They wanted to write Rock Operas mixed with some metal and classical to form a unique sound similar to Pink Floyd, ELP, the Who, and Iron Maiden. But the leader of the band decided to focus on his roots in the South Pacific and gather together all kinds of Pacific Islanders to make a fusion of Japanese, Samoan, Caribbean, and American rock into something no one had heard before. Based on a long forgotten tale of how the black man colonized the Pacific Islands from the mythical Hawaiki, to include Samoa, Tahiti, Guam, the Marshall Islands, and even Okinawa; Black Bushido tells the story of a race of black giants that went to war for Japan during the age of Tokugawa and Nobunaga, assuring them victory against not only the Mongolians, but other Japanese as well.

Well versed in history, Obediah wrote and arranged all the music on the album, played the bass guitar, keytar, synth, and drums, while Xia played keyboards, sang, and then acquired band members: Conti (Gutter Rose) Brown from Queens on vocals, Maiko Onishi from Japan on guitar and vocals, Maki Fujita from Japan on keyboards and Vocals, Yoriko Shintaku from Japan on Vocals, and Jung Hyung Parkfrom South Korea on drums.

The band has since moved to Las Vegas Nevada where it is currently looking for new members for its second album.
