| Main | Review | Activity | Website |
Carlie Wall is 14 years old and is a singer/songwriter/guitarist. She has been singing since she was 5 years old then started to play guitar and write lyrics at about 10 years old. Carlie has written over 25 songs and spends most of her time singing, playing guitar and writing music.
Carlie has mostly learned to play and sing by ear with some help from her Grandma Claudia Peterson and vocal coach, Brodie Perry.
Her guitar training has been with guitarists, Chris Blakley and Steve Adam.
Carlie has performed throughout Utah at various venues including: Utah State Fair, St. George Art’s Festival, Dixie Escalante Kite Festival, Washington County Fair, Santa Clara Swiss Days, among others.
She loves to share her music with people. When asked why she isn’t scared when she goes out on stage, she just replies “I am sharing what I love with people, and that is what I love”! Carlie always says “the bigger the crowd the better”. Carlie generally has performed by herself singing and playing the acoustic guitar, however, this summer she has started to perform with her own band. Carlie has recently recorded a CD and it was released June 1, 2010. You can find her CD at CDbaby and Itunes. Recently Carlie was featured on 95.9 The Hawk “Southern Utah’s Local Homegrown Radio Show”. Southern Utah Songwriters Association has chosen Carlie as one of the “Best Of” for 2009. You will be able to find her recorded song “Glass Wall” on their SUSWA CD in Fall 2010.

I’m a singer, songwriter, musician and arranger, self taught, took voice lesson and I learned arrangement by listening to classical music.
I’m a solo artist, with a recording studio. All vocals and instruments on all of my songs are perform by myself.I founded three bands,Rocksands,Duo Freighter and Deep Blue Eyes.
When I write,I don’t tell myself I’m gonna write in this style or gonna go in this direction, I just let it come out and from that i start building on it.That is why on my CD “Look at that” you live every emotion of life. The Indieshowcase.net did a review of my CD.
I always adapt myself to the song, its never the other way around. The words and melody must be as one,it must float, and once that is achieve, the lead vocal can play around it
Don’t take my word,just listen!

Vegas with Randolph’s debut CD has been called brilliant, hook-filled…a “home run!”, “an extremely strong, out of nowhere debut”, and “a pop delight…that deserves attention in the power pop community, ” and their music has been compared to Fastball, Sloan, Lannie Flowers, and Fountains of Wayne.

At the nucleus of VWR is the prolific songwriting partnership of John Ratts (Wayfarer, Split Alliance) and Eric Kern (Cherrysmash, Stretching Regular, Euphoria). Starting in high school in their mid-western hometown, the duo has penned hundreds of songs, many of which have received various amounts of radio airplay, use in TV and video, compilation CD’s, award nominations (including 2008 “Song of the Year” and 2009 “Modern Rock Album of the Year” nods by the Washington Area Music Association), and covers by several recording artists. VWR is filled out by a number of a number of accomplished and highly creative DC musicians including: Dan Aylestock (Cherrysmash, Blues Condition), David Purol (Stretching Regular, Euphoria), and Brock Harris. Currently, the band has just released a new EP “Side Trip”, and is rapidly writing and recording tracks for their upcoming second full length CD. The Dropzines
Genre: Alternative
Website: http://www.dropzines.com
The Dropzines: A COLLECTION OF CIRCA 1930′S PERIODICALS DEDICATED TO ESSAYS ON NATIONAL DEPRESSION AND MASS EXHAUSTION.
The Dropzines’ singer/songwriter/guitarist, Shawn Stabley, has been composing and performing melody-intensive music since he was a teenager. From 1988 to 1991, Shawn wrote, sang and played bass for the NYC alternative rock group, The Dutch Provos. In ’91, Shawn, along with fellow Dutch Provos’ guitarist, Tim Archer, founded The Most Sordid Pies. The Pies, as they became referred to by fans, recorded their debut LP, “Grit & Sunshine,” along side producers John Siket (Sonic Youth, Phish, Yo La Tengo) and Kramer (Shimmy Disc Records), utilizing legendary rock recording facilities, Bearsville and Power Station Studios. The gritty, yet euphonious acuity of “Grit & Sunshine” would, without a doubt, have gotten The Pies their “just dessert” had its release not been suddenly halted by the bankruptcy of its label’s parent company, Power Station Records. Sadly, The Pies would not recover from the harsh turn of events, and “Grit & Sunshine” would never see its release date, as they disbanded in 1995.
