An Official Statement From Regain Records
a WordPress rating system
Due to misleading rumors being spread through God Seed’s MySpace page regarding the bankruptcy of Regain Records, we would like to clarify to all who have contacted us recently that Regain Records is not in bankruptcy.
We would also like to make clear that the dispute that concerns Live In Grieghallen only involves Tom Cato Visnes (aka King Ov Hell), Regain Records and Entertainment AB, since a settlement with Kristian Espedal (aka Gaahl) was already reached in 2009. The legal outcome of this trial has no bearing on Regain Records nor does it influence our future in any way. It is also incorrect that Regain Records owes any unpaid royalties to Tom Cato Visnes or Kristian Espedal.
Furthermore, Regain Records is very content with the fact that we are still working with the band GORGOROTH and the fact that we choose to support the rightful owner of the trademark, namely
Roger Tiegs (aka Infernus). This has always been our main priority during the various legal proceedings which have involved GORGOROTH in one way or another.

WALKEN: A Clever Crossover Takeover
a WordPress rating system
San Fran crossover thrashers WALKEN are taking over! Their blend of heavy metal styles meld into an alloy that fans and media abroad find to be as energizing and infectious as it is massive. Check out footage of WALKEN opening for Death Angel in December: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsLeqczKGbs.
Since it’s release in November, the band have been raking in the reviews on their latest full-length Walken:
“WALKEN deserve big things. They make proggy crossover thrash that somehow doesn’t suck. Two of them play in Grayceon, who also don’t suck. They have an awesomely natural-sounding recording. It causes air-guitaring. And they have great cinematic taste. You don’t see any bands called Estrada or Seagal, do you?” - Decibel Magazine
Ramzi - Color
a WordPress rating system
There are a lot of people who should be grateful for Ramzi’s high school crush. Because without that half-remembered girl from all those summers back, Ramzi might never have picked up a guitar and the world might never have heard a debut album as compelling and accomplished as Color.
From serenading would-be sweethearts to playing trumpet and guitar in rock bands, jazz bands and orchestras, to writing his own album, Ramzi’s musical journey has been long and eventful.
A California native living in New York, it is perhaps apt that his music encompasses every aspect of the great American folk tradition – it is universal yet personal, hopeful yet real, uplifting while at times melancholy. Inspired by modern greats such as Jason Mraz and Jack Johnson as much as the songwriters of the past like James Taylor and Paul Simon, Ramzi’s songs are still very much his own, with his words and music coming from his heart.

CREATES A DYNAMIC NEW SOUND FOR THE MODERN ERA, FUSING HER “LUCID POP” WITH ELEMENTS FROM MANY GENRES ON HER GLOBALLY POPULAR DEBUT ALBUM ‘WARRIOR ANGEL’
With the release of her highly anticipated, stylistically eclectic indie debut album Warrior Angel, Washington, D.C. based singer/songwriter L’illon does more than simply break genre and cultural barriers. She remarks, “ I would like to set the beat with Lucid Pop for the next decade and beyond.”
“L’illon is about to take the music world by storm,” wrote Skope Magazine.
This multi-talented visionary artist forges a groundbreaking path into a dynamic new realm she has coined as “Lucid Pop”- a modern sound that blends classical, world and pop elements and creates a musical mood unique from any other.
ASCAP VP Ralph Murphy calls L’illon’s music “really cool stuff.”.
Throughout the ten tracks of Warrior Angel, L’illon’s compelling sound is intensely patterned, blending bass and guitar grooves, percussion rich beats, surprise string and wind riffs, and an emotionally powerful vocal presence that pulls it all together. Read the rest of this entry »

Jazz Video Guy Live at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival
a WordPress rating system
Bret Primack, aka the Jazz Video Guy, makes his performance debut at the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival this weekend with two screenings of his popular documentary and performance films.
The festival, being held this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Hilton Hotel in Rockville, Maryland, is produced by Washington D.C.’s Jazz Academy and in addition to Bret’s work, features such artists as Mulgrew Miller, Bobby Watson, Lewis Nash and Festival Director, saxman Paul Carr. “I’ll be screening videos that I’ve produced over the last four years and some collector’s items as well. The program will be varied, everything from Coleman Hawkins to Bob Mintzer. I love sharing my work and of course it’s always very gratifying to interact with my audience face to face.”
Primack’s latest round of videos focus on the pianist Mulgrew Miller. “Several years ago, I shot some video at a clinic Mulgrew did out here in Tucson and I just edited this content into a series of six videos. Mulgrew, as everyone knows, is remarkably talented man, both as a performer, and as an educator.”
