Katie Knipp Passion play
a WordPress rating system
Katie Knipp is a very special talent indeed. Described by one reviewer as “Dylan in a dress,” this singer-songwriter from Sacramento, California is ready to break out into the big time.
Katie has just released her third album, ‘Midnight Mind’. Recorded during a period when she admits she was financially “at rock bottom” this is the record that she was always destined to make. It is as heartfelt and true a collection of songs as you could hope to hear, while the writing and musicianship stand out from the crowd.
What makes Katie so different, and so special, is that she is not some run-of-the-mill starlet straight off the queue of hopefuls for American Idol. On the contrary, Katie is a classically trained musician with a degree in opera.
But beautiful, haunting and exquisite as her voice is, it is the rawness of this album that makes it stand out.

James’ “If You Think This Love” – At #1 On National AC/Hot AC Indie Chart
“On the sophmore album from this remarkably-talented Sonoma County singer-songwriter, James is versatile enough to be comfortable in acoustic Americana styles, minor key blues, story songs, straight-ahead rockers, and, surprisingly enough, even Latin jazz…this is a mature singer-songwriter at the peak of her powers who reminds me of Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi, but has a style all her own.” PAUL LIBERATORE, MARIN INDEPENDENT JOURNAL

MUSIC NEWS NASHVILLE called “If You Think This Is Love” a “downright Bonnie Raitt blues-y performance…one of (James’) best.” The song is “a twangy hip shaker guaranteed to grab you by your feet and throw you in a dancing mood. Her vocals are like the lost sister of Bonnie Raitt and Loretta Lynn,” according to one fan.
James and her band just finished headlining the three-day 2010 San Felipe Tequila Festival in San Felipe, Bc, Mexico. James produced and performed a “Songwriters in the Round” event this past Valentine’s Day at Deerfield Ranch Winery, with another event this May.
Jhonny K is a singer/songwriter

Salt Lake City, Utah. – Jhonny K is a singer/songwriter who recently moved from Nashville, Tn., to Salt Lake City. One luxury that he had is the freedom to express himself in whatever form he chooses. This, after all is in our constitution. Musically, JhonnyK has met that goal, gracefully and with plenty of musical style. Being in Nashville gave him the opportunity to rub shoulders with the best in the business.
Jhonnyk started his musical skills by playing drums, then to trumpet. He started to study jazz and classical music with professionals. This enlightened him in as far as harmonies and the understanding of how music is created. He truly is a fan of many styles of music. He loves soul, jazz, hip hop. He also participated in whatever he could, vocally, from small to large choirs. He joined several groups as a back up acoustic guitar player and vocalist. He always, however, wanted to make a CD produced at a professional level. His first CD, ”Break Free”, is just that. It is a dream come true for him. This CD is a very upbeat, uplifting, soul searching, inspirational venture on his part. One particular single off this CD, ”Sometimes”, reflects how we are at different places in life and what we can do about it, sometimes, states Jhonnyk. It is an observation of social and spiritual life.
This new single, ”Sometimes”, has a great beat and a knockout rhythm. The change up in this one song is so smooth, you don’t miss a beat. Played with acoustic guitar, it draws you into the story line. Vocals are beautiful and perfectly suited for this style music. You just can’t help moving to his music. The harmonies are beautifully interjected in his songs and is representative of the stylings of Jhonnyk. Every song is beautifully written, recorded and performs.
Jhonnyk has played in front of 5000 people on a college level and concert. He played in Denver, Nashville, Salt Lake City, Idaho Falls and just about everywhere in the West.
At this time, he is in the process of trying to put together a tour around the West.

Luxland

Genre: Hip Hop

A Plainfield, New Jersey transplant by way of The Republic of Cameroon - the meaning of Luxland’s very name speaks of his destiny as a superstar, born to shine as the light of the land! A natural hustler, Lux has long lived the life of struggle. Listening to the parental admonition which extolled values of hard work and dedication, it was only natural that Luxland’s art soon imitated his life. At the age of 14, he responded to the cry of Hip-Hop/R&B music reaching out for him. Like a master chemist, Lux has combined his hard knock knowledge of the streets with the influences of old school Hip-Hop (Rakim, Run DMC), R&B (Michael Jackson, Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat) and Reggae (Bob Marley), into a formula all his own, referring to his unique style as urban pop. Not simply a singer/songwriter, he is a pianist - pouring his heart and soul into his music.
As a member of the NJ based group RuffKuttz, in 2003 Luxland appeared on two singles, “Hustle on These Blocks” and “U Gone”. The songs sparked some interest, obtaining spins on Hot 97. “Hustle on These Blocks” was among the top ten songs on local NJ station 90.1. This led to performances with the likes of Baby Cham. A large portion of Luxland’s appeal to the common man is his genuinely humble disposition. With a style all his own, Lux distances himself from artists who exalt riches over the things in life that matter most, like love and relationships. His single “Home Alone” (which features Freeway), is a testament that Luxland believes in old fashioned monogamous relationships. The debut album, entitled “Soul Mate” is expected to be released early 2009 on LRG Entertainment. Songs include the title track “Soul Mate”, “Girls Romancin’” featuring Beenie Man, and “Home Alone” featuring Freeway.HOME ALONE IS NOW AVAILABLE ON ITUNES…
