After many years in the music business as a producer and engineer I decided to release my debut album ‘The Lost Years”. Throughout my career I have recorded and performed my own material as well as collaborating with friends such as Seymour Duncan, Neale Heywood, Pete Bardens and Dave Spencer.
Along the way the artist that had a great influence on my career was Joe Cocker and Steve Marriot, and many rock and R & B artistes of the late 60’s early 70’s. I have been honored to share the stage with great legend Peter Frampton, The Beach Boys and Bonnie Bramlet, as well as many others.
My engineering credits include Joe Cocker, Jim Messina, Christopher Cross and Michael McDonald and the list has continued to grow. ‘The Lost Years’ cd takes you down a road of my career and the great musicians I have been blessed to encounter along my way.
When I am on the stage my heart has a whole new beat to be able to give back to the fans what they have given me over the years. I hope in years to come my music will leave it’s mark with a new outlook to rock and when that special girl hears ‘When A Man Loves A Woman’ she will know that Dave Mendenhall performs it with the intentions that every special lady might feel the words come alive and feel the warmth that is bestowed upon that song.
I perform not for myself but for the love of Rock & Roll lives on inside us all. Also that I can have one hell of a time performing and sharing my work with others.
My outlook is Live, Laugh, Love and ROCK & ROLL.
