Donald “Kattman” Hearon was born in Ozan, Arkansas and raised in Texas. He began performing at the age of 8 in the small town of Floydada, Texas. Hearon started his professional career performing with the Chessman. After three years with the Chessman he formed his own group called Hobbit. Hearon toured the Southwest, performing at nightclubs and special occasions with the newly formed Hobbit for two years. While touring the Southwest, Hearon decided to attend East Texas State to learn to write and arrange music, professionally. After attending college Hearon returned to El Paso Texas were he worked as a performer and a songwriter. He reorganized his old group but changed their name to Nature’s Own Revue. They were immediately hired by the Holiday Inn in Silver City, New Mexico where he spent the next two years performing and writing songs before he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hearon moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he immediately opened Aslon Recording Studio and School of Telecommunications. In 1992, Hearon decided to try his hand as a Radio Disc Jockey. For the next four years, he would become known as the world’s famous Kattman, who played the “blues and nothing but the blues” on KLAV 1230 AM Radio Station. The Kattman’s Blue Show was one of the first, radio programs to go worldwide via the Internet.
In 2001, Hearon decided that it was time to get back into the recording business, thus opening the Hole ‘N the Wall Recording Studio. He enjoyed the success of his first album in fifteen years, entitled “Can You Hear” on Hearon Records. Now, it’s Kattman Volume-2 that everyone is listening to very closely. Its Blues and R&B rolled into one. The soulful recording artist on Hearon Records has more songs of love and wisdom to come.
