Today’s show is all about music and our inner sounds that make our beings what they are! All the different philosophies surrounding music and words that create the magical webs that we intrinsically weave throughout each day! If we were only a little more aware of how music affects our beings – we would also be more conscious in our decision-making when it comes to the music we surround ourselves with. I recently watched an interview with Wynton Marsalis, an amazing jazz musician who became famous at a very early age. I believe that he was all of 14 years old. Anyway, in a discussion about music he said, “We would make much better decisions if we understood what keeps us together!” And I say a huge AMEN to that Wynton. He was inferring, that it is music that holds our souls together. We have music in our DNA! Having said this, I have gone one step further in the process of show and tell in this regard. So I want to go back to basics and introduce the part of my coaching process that separates me from other coaches. As a life coach I have found these techniques incredibly valuable where my clients are concerned. The reason I have named my practice Soul Song Coaching is that I actually have the ability to coach my clients into writing the “Song of their soul” When we allow this technique to be a part of the coaching the doors to all sorts of possibility open wide! I have written a special children’s program that involves this technique and it is called, That Little Feeling Workshop and I had the wonderful opportunity to involve my next guest in a recent workshop. Her name is Amy Stewart and she is an amazingly talented young lady. There is no end to the things that she does on top of being a wife and wonderful mother, a Restaurant Owner, a certified Massage therapist, and a Reiki student, Amy has an amazing understanding of the Chakra systems of our bodies and how they connect to music.

Show 2 - Decide to Live - From Resolution to Reality through "Intention" - Mahri Best

Today we are going to talk about Resolutions and Intention. We are also going to discuss – how to get there. We will explore visualization. I will also give you a flavor of lyrics that match all of the above. So every now and again I will introduce a poem or even a song or the lyrics that will be a song. You can add your music! What a perfect time to talk about INTENTION! Happy New Year everyone – Have you made your New Year’s resolutions? So many of the people I have been speaking to about 2011 have said that, “This is the year of change! Change for the better! We are really going to see our dreams come true this year!” Why this year? – I ask. Why not? The title of today’s show is, “From Resolution to Reality through Intention” or Making Dreams Come True! What are your resolutions? Some of you are saying, “I am going to lose weight!” You know if I had known the techniques I am going to share with you, there would be nothing left of me!”or “I am going to begin a powerful exercise program!” I’d be super woman! or “I am going to find the perfect mate!” Thought I’d mastered that many times and NOW I finally have! or “I am going to find the perfect job!” Yes! I have! So – what is the difference between Resolution and Intention? Resolution is more like solution and intention is resolve. I choose to show you how “intention” plays into the success in keeping your New Year’s resolutions. Being as the title of this show is “Decide to Live”, I am reminding those of you who listened to my first show, that we DO get to choose. This means that we get to choose to have our New Year’s resolutions come to fruition. We first must identify the resolution, then believe in it, then “Decide” to have it come about! Does this sound easy? Well, the truth is – it is only as hard as we make it! We, human beings, are absolute champions of “making life hard”! It is only our conversation that takes us there. What do we need? Let me see? I’ll ask that again, “What do we need? – Funny you should ask! We need to be positive! Some of you are out there saying, “I’m positive it is hard!” o.k. This is where we separate the successes and the failures. This seems like a great time to introduce a poem that is my new year’s creed! Hit it mystro! Oh! By the way – none of this could ever be happening without the amazing work of my husband/techie Harry Blum – You are the greatest Harry and you are my rock – I love you! Thanks for following my Resolution/Intention to find that perfect mate. I’ve kissed many frogs – given up and then I recognized I could get to choose and Voila – enter Harry!

You must also be willing to concede that whatever is going on in your life at this moment is perfect; no matter how it looks; seek that perfection and know that it is yours. If there is apparent lack or your dream does not seem to be coming into fruition? – then seek the gift in that – know that there is always a gift. We have all heard the story about the little boy who wanted a pony. All he saw was a room full of s---(manure) – did it put him off? No! He kept on digging and said, “With all this s---(manure) there must be a pony in here somewhere!” This is the epitome of positive thinking. Believe in your dream, give it all the love you have to give. Tell everyone about your dream and watch the appropriate people and things begin to show up in your life. Never be afraid to ask for help – this can be the difference between success and failure. The coaching that you will be witness to involves creating the song of your soul. This is all about you and it is absolutely, the most positive way to create a forward moving plan for your life. My song is “Decide to Live” – let us find your song! Let’s not put off living for any reason – life is about NOW! It is about living in the NOW – not waiting for the perfect moment. How many times have you heard about the person who saved all their life to retire only to die 2 days after they got the gold watch! Don’t let that be you! Life can be fun and I can teach you how! And who wouldn’t want to put that plan to music? Hey! Music is the essence of life – it is the heart of every word.
